Accepting New Patients
Alexei Wedmid, MD is a Urologist with a fellowship from the University of Pennsylvania in advanced robotic urologic surgery and has expertise in performing robotic kidney and prostate surgery. He finds it rewarding helping both male and female patients solve voiding dysfunction problems with medical and surgical options. He also performs no-scalpel vasectomies and treats those with low testosterone or erectile dysfunction.
Dr. Wedmid values the mix of surgery and outpatient care that urology allows. A passion of science at Dartmouth College led Dr. Wedmid to seek a career in medicine by studying at NYU School of Medicine, finding urology to be an area where he could utilize advanced technologies for his care of patients. Knowing that small fixes can create considerable results, he appreciates seeing his patients regularly and enjoys the personal connection he establishes with them over the years.
“My philosophy in patient care is to go the extra step and make sure the patient understands our shared pathway decision and treatment plan. I take pride in being prepared for each patient’s visit to keep the visit efficient and not waste my patient’s precious time,” he says. He spends extra time when needing to explain a complex treatment plan with his patients, whether cancer, or surgery – and together make the best urologic decision for that individual.
When not practicing medicine, he enjoys running, hiking, skiing, traveling, and spending time with family. As a Ukrainian-American, Dr. Wedmid is passionate about Ukrainian culture and history.
