
Eric J. Margolis, MD

Dr. Eric J. Margolis is a board-certified urologist in practice in northern New Jersey for more than twenty years. He specializes in all aspects of adult urology with an emphasis on urologic oncology, benign prostatic enlargement, stone disease and urinary incontinence.
After graduating Magna Cum Laude from Cornell University with a BA in chemistry, he received his MD from Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY, and completed his residency in urology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City.
Dr. Margolis is currently the Chief of Urology at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center and Assistant Professor of Urology at the newly-accredited Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine at Seton Hall University. He has been a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons for more than 18 years.
Dr. Margolis serves as Medical Director of Research (North Division) for New Jersey Urology where his research efforts center on urologic oncology. He is spearheading trials studying the precision of several diagnostic tests for prostate and bladder cancer. Additionally, he is currently principal investigator for clinical trials exploring new immunotherapy treatments for both early and late stage prostate cancer.
Dr. Margolis is proud to have received numerous Top Doctor Awards from Castle Connolly New York Magazine, New Jersey Monthly, Inside Jersey and The Jewish Standard. He has served as principal investigator on over 30 clinical trials and has co-authored peer reviewed journal articles in Urology, The European Journal of Urology and The New England Journal of Medicine. His Englewood practice is a regional training center for Medtronic neuromodulation for incontinence and is one of five sites globally participating in the Medtronic Pelvic Research network.
Dr. Margolis is proud to serve as one of the Spartan Investigators that published an original article in the New England Journal of Medicine in March of 2018 entitled “Apalutamide Treatment and Metastasis-free Survival in Prostate Cancer.”

RESEARCH & PUBLICATIONS
Dr. Margolis has been involved in clinical research trials in urology for over ten years. He has been principal investigator on over 30 research trials and has worked closely with numerous pharmaceutical and device companies to explore new technologies in the urologic space. He is currently one of five researchers globally to be part of Medtronic pelvic research group studying sacral neurostimulation for voiding dysfunction.
