Dr. Hossein Sadeghi-Nejad graduated Magna Cum Laude from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, ME, where he was awarded the Goodwin Commencement Prize. He received his medical degree from the McGill University School of Medicine in Montreal, Canada. He completed a General Surgery Internship and Residency at the University of California. Dr. Sadeghi-Nejad then completed a Urology Residency and Fellowship in Male Reproductive Medicine (infertility and erectile dysfunction) and microsurgery at Boston University Medical Center under the auspices of Dr. Robert Krane, Dr. Irwin Goldstein, and Dr. Robert Oates. He is certified by the American Board of Urology.
Dr. Sadeghi-Nejad is Professor of Surgery / Urology at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, Chief of Urology at the New Jersey Veterans Affairs Hospitals, and the Director of the Center for Male Reproductive Medicine at Hackensack University Medical Center. Dr. Sadeghi-Nejad has served as committee chairperson for the International Society of Sexual Medicine and the Society for Study of Male Reproduction. He is a scientific reviewer of numerous peer-reviewed journals and serves as the Associate Editor for Sexual Medicine Reviews.
The immediate Past President of the Sexual Medicine Society of North America, Dr. Sadeghi-Nejad has been a participant in multiple Plenary Sessions of the American Urological Association Annual Meeting and is a co-author of the 2014 United States Surgeon General’s Report. From 2011 to 2015, he was a member of the Board of Directors of the NY Section of the American Urological Association as the New Jersey representative.
Dr. Sadeghi-Nejad has been a member of the American Urological Association Guidelines Panel, a group tasked with preparation of evidence-based practice guidelines for urologists in the United States. Most recently, he was named as the Secretary Elect to the NY Section of the American Urological Association and will be the Scientific Co-Chair for the 2022 annual meeting.
He serves as an associate editor of AUA News, the official newsletter of the American Urological Association, and is one of 16 members of the American Board of Urology Examination Committee. More recently on September 29, 2021, Dr. Sadeghi-Nejad was selected to serve on the American Board of Urology as an examiner for the Certifying (Pt.2) Oral Exam.
