Introducing Telemedicine Services for Our Patients

April 7, 2020

News

We are all living in unprecedented times, and understand why you may have missed or cancelled your scheduled appointment. Please know that it is also extremely important to us that you continue to receive the care you need even during this difficult time.

With this in mind, New Jersey Urology (NJU) has developed a solution that protects both our patients and our staff. As an alternative to an in-person office visit, NJU is now offering telemedicine services effective immediately. Telemedicine can be done through the comfort of your home allowing your physician to provide a “virtual” visit through your phone or computer.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services have broadened access to Medicare telemedicine services, and major insurance companies have waived referrals and copay fees and obligations. Please check with your insurance provider as it relates to your individual situation.

“New Jersey Urology is excited to offer the convenience of telemedicine services to our patients. We want to empower our patients and give them the tools they need to manage their health amid the fluid situation we are all experiencing with the COVID-19 threat,” said Scott Ciccarelli, CEO of NJ Urology.

What You Need To Know

  • To limit the exposure of COVID-19, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) have broadened access to Medicare telemedicine services.

  • Major insurance companies have waived referrals and copay fees and obligations for telemedicine services (co-pay for other services will still apply).

How To Schedule a Virtual Visit

Call to schedule an appointment and inform the doctor’s office that you are interested in scheduling a virtual visit. You will receive email instructions to get set up. It’s that simple!

We will continue to provide best-in-class urologic care for our patients while taking preventative measures to help contain the community spread of this virus. Together, we will get through these challenging times.
